Shared mats are covered in other people's sweat, skin and whatever they walked in with — and every scramble drags your bare feet through it. LIGA Grappling Socks put a grippy barrier between your feet and the mat, so you keep your traction while cutting down the mat burn and skin nasties that come with rolling on shared mats.

  • Grip when you scramble. A non-slip sole pattern that bites the mat for sharper cuts and shots without your feet sliding out from under you.
  • Mat burn, sorted. A durable fabric barrier kills the friction that leaves the tops of your feet raw and peeling after a hard roll.
  • Cleaner feet, fewer nasties. Keeps your skin off shared mats to cut down contact with the bacteria and fungus behind ringworm and athlete's foot.
  • Second-skin fit. Snug, breathable and built to move with you — no bunching, no bagging, no distraction mid-roll.
  • Adults and kids. Sizes S / M / L in both, so everyone in the gym is covered.

Why it works

No-gi is a war on your feet. Bare skin on the mat means friction burns, blisters that split mid-session, and direct contact with whatever the last person left behind. The grip sole gives you traction on drilling passes and scrambles, while the fabric puts a barrier between your feet and the mat — so you're not sanding your skin off or picking up a rash you'll be treating for a fortnight.

The fit does the quiet work. Snug and breathable, they hug the foot so they don't roll down or bunch when you're moving, and the fabric stays light enough that you forget they're on. Pull them on for training and open mats, wash them after, and keep rolling.

How to use

FAQ

Do I need grappling socks for no-gi?

You're not required to, but plenty of grapplers wear them — especially for no-gi and open mats. They add grip for scrambles, put a barrier between your skin and the mat to cut mat burn, and keep your feet off shared bacteria. If you train on busy mats or you're nursing a cut, blister or callus, they earn their spot in your bag.

Can I wear them in IBJJF competition?

Check your ruleset first. Most competitions, IBJJF included, require bare feet on the mat — so these are a training, open-mat and hygiene tool rather than a comp item. They're built for everyday rolls, drilling and keeping your feet protected between sessions.

Do they stop ringworm and mat burn?

They help. Keeping your skin off the mat reduces exposure to the bacteria and fungus behind ringworm and athlete's foot, and the fabric barrier cuts the friction that causes mat burn. They're not a replacement for good habits though — pair them with a shower straight after training and the routine in our BJJ skin-care guide.

How do I wash them?

Machine wash cold, inside out, and air dry — skip the dryer and fabric softener so the grip and elastic keep performing. Wash them after every session, same as your rash guard.

How do I pick a size?

Match your foot to the S / M / L size chart. You want a snug second-skin fit so they don't slip on the sole — if you're between sizes, go down. Kids' sizes run smaller across the same S / M / L.
